Seeking to grow its brand internationally, Molton Brown will be showcasing its range of unique and exotic bath, body and home blends for the first time in Cannes. Situated in the Majestic Hotel, its showroom is giving buyers the perfect opportunity to learn about the brand, its success in travel retail and the newness it will be introducing for 2017.
“This is the first time we have shown our range to buyers in Cannes during this important travel retail week. It’s an exciting time for the travel retail team and is the result of a lot of hard work and determination. As part of its continued commitment to travel retail, Molton Brown has developed a range of travel retail and duty free exclusives. Each exclusive product is focused on its best-selling blends within travel retail, whilst also capturing some recent new product development.
Designed with the traveller in mind, each product is under the legal 100ml on-board size making them an ideal gift for a jet setting friend, family member or self-indulgence. “Having travel retail exclusives in the portfolio is a vital element of our channel strategy,” comments Pluess. “Exclusives not only meet the retailer’s need to create a point of difference to the High Street, but our flight-friendly presentations also act as a brilliant introduction to the brand.”
With five travel retail exclusive products on offer this year - compared to an original four introduced in 2015 - half one saw an impressive 300% increase in sales. Comments Pluess, “Adding one more SKU to the line means we have had much better visibility and availability of product this year, even so, the growth in sales has been dramatic and we’re delighted. Travel retail is a major priority for Molton Brown as we see plenty of opportunities within it. Sales figures like these certainly support that theory.”
