A new addition for Perfumer’s Workshop and AMOUROUD at TFWA Asia Pacific

The ‘niche’ fragrance specialist showcases its latest Amouroud addition: Silk Route

Perfumer’s Workshop, the niche fragrance specialist will be exhibiting at the TFWA Asia Pacific Exhibition and Conference (Stand U12 on the 1st Level) with its newly released Amouroud scent, Silk Route. This new addition to the Amouroud collection gives an added breadth to its portfolio, offering consumers more choice on-top of its already successful seven fragrances.
“The interest and development of the ‘niche’ perfume category has been increasing in the travel retail channel over the last few years. We have established a strong portfolio with Amouroud, and this newest addition accentuates this,” says PWI Founder, Donald Bauchner. “We think it’s very important to offer our customers a range of different scents and blends, to ensure that we cater for every taste. Having a broad range of Amouroud fragrances means we will have something for everyone.”

The new Amouroud fragrance is the inspiration of perfumer Irina Burlakova. Silk Route evokes the long exotic history of travel – an adventure connecting Europe to the wondrous spices and textiles of Persia, India, the Caucasus, and China. Steeped in history, shrouded in mystery, the magic of the Silk Route lies in the timeless allure of travel and adventure. In truth, the Silk Route is not a single road but rather an ancient map of routes all used for the transport of exotic silks and spices from east to west -myriad golden paths to fortune and glory, interwoven like the threads of a magic carpet.

Comments Irina Burlakova, “I have always been passionate about this time in history. The official silk road was named at the end of the 19th century, but I believe the first experiences started around the 2nd century BC, where there were many cultural exchanges and interactions between many amazing places like Persia, India, China and the Roman Empire.”

“The silk road allowed certain spices such as cinnamon, nutmeg and pepper to be brought into Mediterranean countries for the first time, so it is a huge part of history. Growing up in the USSR has given me a strong connection to the silk road, and it is a trip I would love to make myself one day,” adds Burlakova.

Bauchner adds, “Exhibiting at TFWA Asia Pacific is a great opportunity for PWI to showcase our ‘niche’ fragrances to key industry figures and customers. The region is relatively new to us, but we are now in a strong position to really focus on getting Amouroud into the Asia travel retail and duty free market. We have started positively, already achieving an opening in Taiwan, with Myanmar, Singapore and Indonesia soon to follow. We always target each market individually, as we want to develop a personal relationship with each of our customers, tailoring our approach to each market accordingly.”
