Veghel, March 22
2017 - At the yearly presentation of Best Workplaces, Mars enters the ranking,
finishing at the second place in the category large and
multinational organizations. According to the Great Place to Work survey, 91%
of the 1,500 Dutch employees indicated that they take pride in their work and
their workplace. 87% has confidence in the organization, its leadership and its
policies. Behind these percentages one finds a value-driven organization that
evaluates people honestly on their potential and performance, and where there
is a lot of room for both development and fun.
Pride
Employees invest a lot of energy in Mars, the
organization invest a lot of energy in the development of its employees in
return. "We are very proud of this award," says Jack Tabbers (General
Manager Mars Netherlands). "This award reflects the pride our employees
take in their work and their workplace. A huge 'thank you' to all our
Associates here is certainly in place. "The survey also confirms that Mars
is a company that clearly prioritizes its employees development: not only does
Mars invest a lot in the individual development of people, there is also great
eye for their potential and performance. "As a result, there are many
examples of people who made it from the shopfloor to the executive level, even
though they started their journey with a resume that you would not have
recognized immediately as proof of travel"; said Jack Tabbers. Mars is
known for offering careers and the opportunity to continue to develop instead
of merely a job.
Across the board, Mars scored higher than
comparable organizations, especially when it comes to developing its employees
it has a strong reputation. Marlie Joosten (Brand Manager, since three years at
Mars), "New colleagues are often amazed to see how much attention is paid
to training courses. But let there be no mistake: you do not get success handed
to you on a silver platter. A healthy doses of ambition and a result driven
mindset are therefore very useful. "
Future
Mars will invest 100 million euros in the factory
in Veghel over the next 10 years. Part of the investment is a new production
line for Mars Bites: the usual bars, but in a smaller size. The plant in Veghel
