Tyko takes to the seas with Breo


Tyko Brands Ltd has announced its first venture into the cruise sector. With its first listings onboard vessels confirmed for Q3, Tyko Brands has been working alongside leading concessionaires to design the perfect range of Breo Sunglasses for the cruise guest.

This first step into the cruise business comes following continued success from the companys portfolio of brands with the Ferry sector, including both Stena and Brittany Ferries.

We see the Cruise and Ferry sector as a strategic area for 2016. Since launching in 2008, Tyko has seen tremendous growth not just in our core inflight business where we now have some 300 product lines listed on over 100 airlines globally, but on the ground and with ferries, where we continue to see great opportunities. The cruise market seemed the next logical step for Tyko.

Breos global role out strategy for ground stores has experienced tremendous growth over the past 12 months. As a result we have seen our global locations increase by 75% YoY. These include 20 key locations throughout the Americas including key locations such as Miami International Airport, within Asia Pacific 7 locations including; Malaysia & Singapore, Europe 17 locations including; Antalya(Turkey), Hamburg  & Basel and in the Middle East we are in the process of launching in 10 locations within Saudi. In addition to this we have an additional 8 new confirmed locations across Europe & the Americas including Latin America and Russia.

Interestingly sales from both Breo collections; watches & sunglasses are performing exceptionally well. Due to our affordable, stylish, quality designs Breo makes the ideal impulse purchase, as a result many of our ground store partners now view Breo as their entry level, quality, brand. Monthly average sales range from 150 units to 730+units per month. Although the majority of our clients favour the Premium Free Standing Display Units (FSDU) some with smaller stores place our sunglasses either on their existing in store furniture or on our counter spinners along with our watches. Due to the success of the sales most clients end up multi sighting the brand throughout their airports.
