CELEBRATING 260 YEARS OF CRAFTING GENUINE COGNAC

Award winning Maison Gautier puts new focus on travel retail as part of new brand strategy for parent group

TFWA World Exhibition this year sees award-winning Maison Gautier – part of the Marie Brizard Wine & Spirits Group - celebrate its 260 years anniversary with a new commitment to travel retail and the promise of an exciting new brand design and packaging reveal to come (Yellow Village E32).

For Maison GAUTIER, its 260th anniversary represents a celebration of the brand’s passion for true and genuine cognac. “We have never lost touch with our own roots, our connection to nature. From our barrel-making heritage, we know how to select the oak trees that create the perfect barrels to welcome our cognacs, “ says the company. “With the same care, we age our eaux de vie in our humid cellars in an old watermill over the Osme river in Aigre. This gives our cognac its distinctive smooth and generous signature.“

In Cannes Gautier will be displaying its full range of Cognacs including VS, XO, Gold and Blue, which have between them won some 15 major awards including twice being recognised as the ‘Best Cognac’ in 2015*. With such credentials, Gautier is a seen as a perfect choice for travel retail.

“We have a real gem in Gautier Cognac, with fantastic heritage and a 260 year history that we want to share with the world,” says MBWS Global Travel Retail Director Kevin Baker. “Couple this with its amazing record of awards every year, including Best Cognac, and you’ll understand why I believe it is the perfect brand for Travel Retail. With this history, these awards, and a willingness to invest in the right brand exposure activities, Gautier Cognac provides a tremendous opportunity for profitable sales.”

Cannes also sees the first stages in a new brand design and packaging for Gautier, created to better express the cognac’s unique qualities and heritage.

“We believe that crafting our cognac with generosity and integrity, and respecting our heritage, is what makes our cognac truly unique,’ says the company. “We want to pay homage to the people, their passion and skill that made Maison GAUTIER, by expressing it through a striking new brand design and new packaging that will be revealed soon.”

Adds Baker: “TFWA World Exhibition is being used as a forerunner to the new look launch – we will be using new background visuals and communication tone to set the scene for what will be a major announcement later this year.”

ABOUT OUR AWARDS: “AT Maison GAUTIER, we are striving to create the most genuine cognac ever for truly discerning amateurs wanting to enjoy every sip. This is why we spend hours, days and years patiently ageing and meticulously blending our eaux de vie. Our pride? It is the recognition of this “savoir-faire”, awarded with 15 medals for our quality and, above all, being twice recognized as “BEST COGNAC” this year. Because integrity pays.”
