CHABOT ARMAGNAC CELEBRATES 20 YEARS OF HKIA WITH ITS FIRST EVER SINGLE CASK VINTAGE

The 20 years anniversary of Hong Kong International Airport has inspired a very special partnership between Chabot Armagnac and Duty Zero by CDF.

In a first for the Armagnac brand, steeped in history and tradition, Chabot has produced its very first Single Cask product exclusively for Duty Zero by CDF.  Just 210 bottles of the superb Chabot Armagnac Single Cask 1998 Vintage have been produced, each with its own serial number to emphasise the quality and rarity of the vintage. Additionally, the bottle offers the all-important credit of exclusivity – not just to travel retail but to Duty Zero by CDF.

An exquisitely and beautifully structured Vintage, 1998 is distinguished by the well balanced complexity of its fruity aromas. A pure noble Armagnac, powerful and full of life, it is sure to be appreciated by enthusiastic and passionate connoisseurs.

Each bottle is presented in a lined wooden box complete with certificate of authenticity and tasting notes for the liquid.

Launched instore in July, Chabot Armagnac has further supported the brand with a GWP offering consumers a free trolley with purchases of over HK$1,800. The promotion extends to all Chabot Armagnac products offered, including the Single Cask 1998 Vintage.

Says Chabot Armagnac President Kathleen Gentzbourger: “We’re delighted to be partnering with Duty Zero by CDF with this very special anniversary vintage. It’s a first for us, so very exciting to be celebrating 20 years of the stunning Hong Kong International Airport with an equally remarkable Single Cask vintage.

“Chabot Armagnac has a history that goes back to 1828 and we have a well-deserved reputation for superlative products from our VSOP Gold to Extra to No. 8. This new venture for us – a single cask – is something that we are extremely eager to develop with our retail partners. We have enough vintage stock levels of various years to be able to create bespoke products that are both exclusive to the channel and the retailer.”

TASTING NOTES: CHABOT ARMAGNAC Vintage 1998, 42,8 % Vol.

Amber Colour with copper sparks.
A complex nose where one can detect multiple aromas of fruits: fresh mangos, stewed apples
and dried apricots, punctuated with aromas of fresh pastry and hints of rancio.
Fruity, and refreshing in the mouth with senses of peppermint delicately structured by ageing in wooden oak casks.
The finish is extremely fruity, intense and long with a remaining sensation of honey and light tobacco.

About Chabot Armagnac: Chabot established its name in the wines and spirits trade in 1828. Based in the rolling hills of Gascony in the village of La Bastide d'Armagnac, the family produced the wine necessary to the distillation of Armagnac. For over a century, the finely crafted Armagnac remained a well-kept secret, shared among close friends, Gascon locals and the French nobility. That was until 1963, and Chabot's first foray into bringing Armagnac from France to the rest of the world. The big international development of Chabot took place under the leadership of the late John Gentzbourger. The brandy became prized for its superlative quality and distinctive taste. Today, Chabot Armagnac has circumnavigated the globe and can be found in 96 countries. It is now the best selling Armagnac brand in the world and in global travel retail.  And yet tradition remains a strict priority. Every drop of Chabot Armagnac today is still imbued with the brand’s intrinsic heritage and rich quality.
