William Grant & Sons appoints North America president

William Grant & Sons has expanded the role of its US unit head to include the Canadian market.

Jonathan Yusen, who became president & MD of William Grant & Sons USA two years ago, has been promoted to president & MD for North America. Having replaced Simon Hunt, who moved to become William Grant's COO in 2013, Yusen will also take over the Canadian leadership from him.

Hunt will "expand his role with responsibility for all global markets", the company said. The US and Asia will be added to his remit.

Yusen will also sit on the company's global executive board.

"The creation of our Branded Business Unit in 2013 has allowed us to sharpen our brand-building approach along with our global commercial capabilities," said William Grant CEO Stella David. "Now is the time for us to move into the next phase of what we started.

"I’m confident that these expanded roles and responsibilities will continue to enhance our performance and ways of working across the group."

Yusen joined William Grant as senior VP of marketing for the US in 2008, adding Mexico and Canada to his remit in 2009, He became general manager for Canada in 2012 before moving to the US.
