Tyko has announced a major new development for its highly successful
inflight brand Hippie Chic. With close
to a million units sold to date Hippie Chic is extending its product offering
to a full accessory range.
Currently Hippie Chic offers a small range with watches being the most
popular items, however, for S/S 16 this will vastly expand. Hippie Chic will now be offering truly
stunning jewellery including statement pieces and other accessory items, such
as scarves and sunglasses, retailing on board from £16 to £30.
Says Martin Lovatt, Global Travel Retail Director: “Hippie Chic
is outstandingly successful for Tyko Brands Ltd with 300 plus listings on more
than 110 airlines.” he says. “However, we
know we cannot stand still and the brand needs to develop and evolve, hence the
decision to take Hippie Chic to the next level.”
“Initial
reaction from airlines has been fantastic.
The new range enables airlines to offer a wider selection from Hippie
Chic giving them the opportunity to add something fresh and exclusive to their
on board offering.”
Lovatt believes the next two years will see Hippie Chic becoming a
global brand, which can only spell good news for Travel Retail.
The concept will be officially launched at TFWA World Exhibition &
Conference in Cannes this October (stand K38 Green Village) with a special
event for airline buyers and media.
