Paul
& Shark is thrilled to report an excellent week at this year’s TFWA World
Exhibition, where it held press conferences and meetings on its newly designed
stand.
Starting
off on Sunday with the Paul & Shark sponsored regatta which, once again,
was a phenomenal success – Catherine Bonelli, Paul & Shark’s Global Travel
Retail Director commented: “This year we had more people than ever before on
the waiting list, each year the popularity of the regatta grows and grows. This
time the event was particularly relevant as it ties perfectly into our ‘Save
the Sea’ campaign.” Indeed, renowned artist Annarita Serra attended the regatta
to give participants an insightful speech, before they set sail, about the
importance of keeping the ocean pollution-free.
On
Monday, the brand held a press conference where it spoke to various travel
retail trade publications about its ‘Save the Sea’ campaign, they could also
see the first stages of Annarita Sera’s work of art, created out of various materials she had found washed up on
beaches around the world. On Wednesday, the press were invited back to the
stand to view the finished work.
“Annarita is truly a talent,” continues Bonelli. “She really is an
example of how we can make something good out of something bad – she literally
turned trash into treasure.” Visitors
to the stand were also very impressed with the “Save the Sea” capsule created
to support the project – a cotton t-shirt and bomber jacket in recycled polyester
nylon, 100% derived from post-consumer plastic bottles collected and processed
in Italy.
In terms
of prospective new business, Paul &Shark can confirm it had a very busy
week with back-to-back meetings with potential new clients as well as existing
ones. “While we can’t announce anything specific yet, we can confirm that we
had many promising meetings that will undoubtedly lead to more growth for the
brand in travel retail,” says Bonnelli.
“Visitors to the stand were particularly impressed with the new booth
layout, which was created in synergy with the Paul & Shark new store design
concept – and the embroidery machine went down a treat as always, with many
visitors to our stand leaving with a new personalised polo shirt!
“I’d
like to thank my team and Annarita Sera for making this year’s TFWA World
Exhibition an incredibly worthwhile week, not only did we work extremely hard
but, just as important, we had a lot of fun!”
