Rodenstock brings latest PD designs to Orlando

Rodenstock is delighted to be exhibiting at the upcoming Summit of the Americas show in Orlando where it will be revealing the latest additions and styles to its Porsche Design eyewear collection, as well as discussing the possibilities of launching the ‘Rodenstock’ brand into travel retail (booth 724)).

Laser Cut – Highest Precision and Perfection
With the Laser Cut (P’8663), Porsche Design has once again created unique spectacles that combine technological innovation and functional design. The Iconic Laser Cut (P’8663), with a frame of 100% titanium, captivates with cut-outs in the side areas of the middle section. The grey-tinted sunglasses lenses are milled precisely into them so that they are flush where they meet the outer edge of the frame, and at the same time are placed securely in the frame. Through the innovative processing technology, the lens gives the impression that it is floating in the wrap-around titanium band. Porsche Design consciously used pure material in the design. The P’8663 has absolutely no lacquering. The characteristic Porsche Design logo is engraved in the titanium temples by means of a special laser technique.

The P’8663 supplements the Iconics series with another exclusive model. The Laser Cut belongs to the Gold category of Iconics and is therefore limited to 911 specimens. The spectacles, including an elegant case, is delivered in a specially designed box,

Ti-Namic - Sporty Design Meets the Material Titanium
Inspired by automobile construction, four new spectacles models – two sunglasses and two correction spectacles – were created that captivate through a purist and simultaneously sporty design. The striking shape of the titanium temples, which are immediately reminiscent of the side air intakes of sports cars, is made possible through a modern 3D pressing process. The temples are not only a real eye-catcher, but they also ensure perfect wearing comfort thanks to their flexibility in combination with the extremely light titanium frame.

In honour of Porsche Design’s 40th Anniversary, Rodenstock will also be showing the Limited Special Edition “40Y” of the P’8478. The P'8478 replaceable lens sunglasses stand for absolute style consciousness, elegant design coupled with well thought-out functionality. It is a design icon so unique that it is recognised worldwide. The P'8478 with its unmistakeable lens shape, characteristic nose bridge and its revolutionary lens changing mechanism is one of the few spectacles that have remained unchanged for 40 years. The P'8478 was adapted to the technical level of the 21st century only through the use of ultralight titanium. More than 9 million sold units prove their wearability.

On the occasion of the 40th anniversary of Porsche Design Eyewear, the first sunglasses model of the exclusive lifestyle brand appears in a limited special edition. With a matt, black frame made of ultralight titanium, grey gradient lenses and a gold-coloured nose bridge, the pilot spectacles become a true collector’s piece. The special edition is supplemented with four pairs of interchangeable lenses in the colours blue gradient, brown, olive/silver mirrored and mercury/silver mirrored. The new exclusive model is available in two sizes, and each size is limited to 911 specimens. Since the P'8478 naturally should not be missing when travelling, the anniversary edition is delivered in a practical travel box that makes it possible to safely and stylishly transport the spectacles as well as the related replacement lenses. The “40Y” anniversary package is completed with a high-quality spectacles case.
