Swiss Eyewear Group has acquired DFDS as a new customer for
the 2018 season.
DFDS is the first ferry operator to launch with three of the
Swiss Eyewear Group sunglass brands – INVU, Rip Curl, and Seksy. sunglasses which
are presented on a custom-built display - featuring an integrated polarization
tester movie display; the first of its kind in the travel retail channel. INVU, Rip Curl and Seksy sunglasses are currently
listed on board the Cote des Dunes, Cote des Flandres, and Calais Seaways
ships.
At the recent training sessions DFDS staff were very
enthusiastic to learn about the new INVU, Rip Curl and Seksy sunglasses on
board. Discovering the benefits of INVU
ultra polarized lenses, and how the movie display can help them to help engage
with customers was very much appreciated, and all the crew were keen to
merchandise the displays to ensure sales would be maximised.

and complement the Seksy watches that are also sold on board.
Rebecca Harwood-Lincoln, Swiss Eyewear Group’s Director of
Travel Retail, says: “We are absolutely delighted with the new partnership, and
have enjoyed working with the DFDS team to create a compelling offer for their customers
onboard.”
Will Attersley, Category Manager at DFDS, says: “It is a
real pleasure to now be featuring Swiss Eyewear Group’s sunglass brands on our
ships, especially as the custom-made display is the perfect silent salesman. The
sunglasses available onboard DFDS ships are a great mix of style quality at
affordable prices, and we have high hopes for their strong sales potential in
the months and years ahead.”
